On Lovenly, your safety — emotional, physical and digital — comes before everything else. Here's what we do and what we recommend.
1. What Lovenly does for you
- Moderated profiles: every profile is reviewed before publication. Stolen photos, fake profiles, suspicious accounts are removed.
- Verified email required: no ghost bots.
- Messaging after match: no one can send you a message unless you've liked each other. First messages are daily-limited to choke spam.
- Block / report button visible everywhere. One second, one click, done.
- Auto risk-keyword detection (money, crypto, medical emergency, Western Union, visa…) that triggers manual review.
- HTTPS encryption everywhere, encrypted storage at rest, database-level isolation (Row Level Security).
- Audited admin logs: every sensitive action by a team member is tracked.
2. Romance scams — don't get fooled
Romance scams are common on international apps. Golden rules:
- Never send money, even for an emotional emergency, plane ticket, visa, medical fees or a "too good to be true" investment.
- Beware of people who can never video call or who endlessly postpone.
- Beware of relationships that get very intense very fast (love-bombing).
- Don't share personal documents (ID card, passport) or your banking info.
- Don't send intimate photos under pressure.
- If someone pushes you to leave Lovenly too fast to switch to WhatsApp / Telegram, take your time.
3. Before an IRL meeting
- Pick a busy public place for the first time.
- Tell a loved one: who, where, when, what time you're back.
- Don't share your address.
- Keep your phone charged and accessible.
- Arrange your own transportation, don't depend on the other to get home.
- Do a video call beforehand before traveling (or before they travel).
- At the slightest discomfort, leave. You don't have to explain or justify anything.
4. Reporting someone
If someone makes you uncomfortable, harasses you, asks you for money, sends inappropriate content, or you suspect a minor:
- Use the Report button on their profile or the conversation.
- Or write to us directly at abuse@lovenly.online. We treat these reports as priority.
- In case of immediate threat, contact the police (17 in France, 911 in the US, 112 in EU, or 114 by SMS in France if you can't speak).
5. Useful numbers
- 3919 — Women's Violence Hotline (France, free, anonymous).
- 119 — Child Endangerment Hotline (France).
- 17 — Police (France).
- 114 — SMS emergency number (France, deaf/mute or unable to speak).
Outside France, search for emergency numbers and helplines in your country.
